I am a leader in luxury real estate with 29 years of experience, a track record of innovation, and a deep commitment to excellence. As the Principal of the Hogan Zavala Group at Engel & Völkers Chicago, I specialize in premium neighborhoods in Chicago and the flourishing markets of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. My career has been defined by strategic marketing, high-level client relationships, and an unwavering focus on delivering exceptional service in the luxury space.

Previously, I served as Vice President of Luxury at Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC, where I led the relaunch of the industry’s largest luxury real estate division, culminating in the creation of the Coldwell Banker Global Luxury Program. I managed a multimillion-dollar budget and spearheaded marketing strategies that expanded the brand’s global reach. I also led the launch of the Global Luxury Agent Certification, setting agents apart in the most competitive luxury real estate field.

As Managing Broker of Keller Williams' Chicago Gold Coast Office, I drove profitability and agent success during one of the most challenging real estate periods, earning Luxury Office of the Year and achieving the highest Gross Commission Income (GCI).

I have always embraced challenges and opportunities to break new ground. In the early 1990s, I made history as the first man to win the coveted Pink Cadillac from Mary Kay, a testament to my sales acumen and perseverance. My impact extends beyond business; in 2018, I was honored by Crain’s Chicago Business as one of the Notable LGBTQ Executives for my contributions to workplace equality, industry leadership, and mentorship. I was also recognized as a RISMedia Real Estate Newsmaker for my role in shaping market trends, advancing industry standards, and driving innovation in luxury real estate.

As Editor-in-Chief of Homes & Estates magazine, I directed editorial coverage on luxury real estate trends. Under my leadership, the magazine won the Golden Astra Award in 2018, recognizing excellence in luxury publishing. I also authored numerous luxury market reports for Coldwell Banker Global Luxury, shaping industry thought leadership.

Having lived and worked in Chicago for over 30 years, I bring an unmatched depth of knowledge and expertise, making me a trusted advisor and industry leader. Married to Rudy Zavala, a fellow Broker, we currently reside in Chicago's Gold Coast area.
